Protecting your data is central to Reserve (the “App”). In short: your data is stored on your device. There is no server of our own, no user account, no tracking and no sharing with us or third parties. Only if you enable the optional iCloud backup is a copy stored in your private iCloud storage (see section 7). The App does not transmit any personal data to us.

With your explicit permission, the App reads (read-only) the following from Apple HealthKit: sleep (including sleep stages), heart rate variability (HRV), resting heart rate, heart rate and active energy (kcal). Reading may also happen in the background (e.g. when Apple Health reports new data) so that your reserve, widget and Apple Watch stay up to date. This data is used locally to calculate your energy reserve, your load and personal comparison values, and for charts (e.g. sleep stages and heart-rate curve). No data is written back to Apple Health and no health data is transmitted to us or third parties. You can revoke permission anytime under iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Health.
The cycle calendar is optional and off by default. Only if you enable it, the App reads period data (menstrual flow) read-only from Apple Health with your separate permission and additionally stores the period days you enter locally on your device. From this it shows cycle phases, a prediction, planning hints and an analysis of your values by phase. Cycle data does not change the calculation of your energy reserve, is not written back to Apple Health and is not shared with third parties. You can turn the cycle calendar off at any time under More → Cycle and delete all cycle data there.
If you use the Apple Watch app, widgets or complications, values such as reserve, load and today's plan are synchronized directly between your devices or via locally shared storage; they are not sent to us. Reminders (e.g. check-in, medications) are local notifications on your device. When you use Siri and Shortcuts, Apple processes your voice commands under its own privacy terms; the App answers requests with locally stored values.
In the settings you can enable a backup (off by default). A copy of your App data (display name, settings, diary, medications, check-ins, history and – if enabled – cycle data) is then stored in your private iCloud database at Apple (Apple CloudKit). We as the provider have no access to it; the data is tied to your Apple account. Apple's privacy terms apply to the processing at Apple. Turning the backup off does not automatically delete an existing backup; you can remove the App's iCloud data via iCloud storage management in iOS Settings.
The purpose is to provide the App's features (energy and symptom journaling). The legal basis is your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) and Art. 9(2)(a) GDPR for health data), which you give on first launch; for the optional cycle data you give it additionally by enabling the cycle calendar and the Health permission. You can withdraw consent anytime, e.g. by disabling the Health permission, turning off the cycle calendar or deleting the App.
The App contains no analytics, advertising or tracking services and does not connect to any servers of ours. No personal data is shared with us or third parties; the only exception is the optional iCloud backup to your own iCloud storage (section 7).
Your data remains on your device until you remove it in the App (e.g. “Reset all data” under More) or delete the App. Deleting the App irreversibly removes all locally stored data. An iCloud backup remains in your iCloud storage until it is deleted (see section 7).
The App is downloaded via the Apple App Store. Apple independently processes data (e.g. Apple ID, download history). We have no influence on this; Apple's privacy policy applies.
Under the GDPR you have the rights to access, rectification, erasure, restriction, data portability and objection. As we do not collect or store your data, we generally hold no personal data about you. For questions, contact the address above. We update this policy when features or the legal situation change. The version published on this page applies.
